Rachel Brown - Licensed Professional Counselor
Supporting Farm Families & Rural Mental Health
Growing up on a family farm instilled in me a passion for agriculture. I support efforts to increase access to mental health care in rural areas in Illinois because I believe everyone should be able to find help easily when navigating life's challenges.
Rural Mental Health Partnerships

I am an approved provider with the Illinois Agricultural Mental Health Voucher Program through Illinois Extension. This program provides vouchers for 3 free counseling sessions to any individual working in agriculture. The vouchers can also be used by the individual's immediate family members. I also facilitate a virtual support group for the Farm Family Resource Initiative, an initiative aimed at building a network of support and resources for Illinois farm families. The flyer above shares information for the monthly Grief Support Group. As it states, participation is free to any farm family member over the age of 18. More information about the Farm Family Resource Initiative and its full list of offerings and resources can be found at https://www.siumed.edu/farm
RFD Radio Monthly Segments
"Inside Ag"
Check out a clip from my most recent radio segment on RFD Radio with Rita Frazer. Rita and I chat about mental health on the "Inside Ag" radio show on a monthly basis with the goal of increasing awareness of mental health resources and de-stigmatizing the topic of asking for help in the agriculture industry.
